Our Mission & Vision

World Outreach for Christ, Inc. (a 501c3 non-profit religious organization) was founded by Phillip Hayes in 1988 and incorporated in 1991 as an evangelistic ministry dedicated to spreading the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ and supplying humanitarian aid regardless of race, creed or religious preference. The outreach quickly grew beyond its local influence in Tennessee to impact missionary works world wide.

Phillip and his wife Glenda travel extensively throughout the United States and other countries in evangelistic and missionary efforts ministering the Word of God; distributing tracts, Bibles, literature, food, and clothing.

Brother Hayes has extensive experience in conducting revival services, conventions, camp meetings and tent meetings. Salvation, deliverance and healings confirm the anointed and unadulterated preaching of God’s Word.

The ministry publishes pamphlets, tracts and a monthly newsletter called the “Trumpet Messenger”. Phillip Hayes is the principal author and editor of the newsletter.  The newsletter was first published in October 1988. Each month there is an article (sermon) by Brother Hayes; a CD or DVD of the month offered without cost to anyone requesting them; traveling schedule; and special letters from Glenda and Phillip. It has been printed and mailed “free of charge” since its beginning.

Today, World Outreach for Christ, Inc. maintains the vision given over twenty-five years ago.

Phillip’s ministry has been two-fold for many years. As an evangelist, he has been called an “Old Time Preacher”.  Because of the anointing, passion and healings that accompanies his ministry it reminds some of the “Healing Evangelists” of the 1950’s.  As a pastor he has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He has served as a full time Pastor and Evangelist for over thirty years.   Phillip and his wife Glenda have ministered in 14 countries. Phillip is passionate about missionary work and has a heart for the poor.  Along with his wife Glenda they continue to travel extensively conducting revival meetings in churches, auditoriums, camp meetings, conventions and foreign mission crusades.  Their message emphasizes the unconditional Grace of God and the experience of the New Birth and baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Phillip and Glenda Co-Pastor Cumberland Outreach for Christ in Crossville, Tennessee.

Glenda’s first missionary trip was to Haiti at the age of 19.  That first missionary trip changed her life and she has labored tirelessly since to minister to the needs of the poor wherever God opened the door. She has a huge responsibility and performs multi-tasks for the ministry,  Her primary responsibility is teaching the Word of God and co-laboring with her husband Phillip.  In addition she is the Corporate Secretary for World Outreach for Christ, Incorporated and manages the ministries various missionary outreaches.  In addition, she is the Co-Pastor of Cumberland Outreach for Christ, the ministry’s local outreach in Crossville, Tennessee.

WHERE MINISTRY IS MORE THAN PREACHING

WE   BELIEVE

We Believe the Bible is the divine, inspired Word of God. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” [2Timothy 3:16]

We Believe there is One God the Father Almighty, Creator of the heavens and the earth. “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord.” [Matthew 12:29] “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” [1Corinthians 8:6]

We Believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” [Matthew 1:18] “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” [St. John 1:14]

We Believe that He lived upon the earth and suffered stripes for our SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL healing.“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” [1Peter 2:24]

We Believe Jesus was crucified, died, and was buried; and rose again the third day from the dead, ascended into the heavens, and is now sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” [Matthew 28:6] “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.”  [1Peter 3:22]

We Believe that every person who repents and turns to God by faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross, is forgiven all sin, is justified before God and receives Christ’s righteousness.  He is delivered from Satan’s rule, becomes spiritually regenerated and restored to fellowship with God.  Every person who continues in the faith will be eternally saved.  This salvation is by God’s grace alone through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and no human efforts or acts can alter any person’s fallen condition, despite his capacity for good works and worthy achievements. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” [St. John 3:16] “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” [Ephesians 2:8]

We Believe that every Christian convert should be baptized in water by total immersion as a public declaration of his identification with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”  [Matthew 28:19]  “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” [Acts 2:38]

We Believe every believer should seek and expect to be baptized in the Holy Ghost as a distinct experience of empowering for Christian life and service as a gateway into the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” [Acts 1:8] “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” [Acts 2:39] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. [Acts 2:4] “He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? . . .” Acts 19:2]

We Believe in the resurrection of the dead and the catching away of the living saints at Christ’s second coming. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” [1Thessalonians 4:16-17]

We Believe in the literal second coming of Christ at the end of time. “Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” [Acts 1:11]
